The Bourns SMBJ24A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode from the SMBJ series, designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients and surges. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 24V, a minimum breakdown voltage of 26.7V, and a maximum clamping voltage of 38.9V at a peak pulse current of 15.5A (10/1000µs waveform). The device can handle 600W of peak pulse power.
The SMBJ24A is mounted in a standard surface-mount DO-214AA (SMB) package, making it suitable for automated assembly. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to +150°C. The diode is intended for general-purpose protection applications and is compatible with IEC 61000-4-2 ESD, IEC 61000-4-4 EFT, and IEC 61000-4-5 surge standards as per the series datasheet. Power line protection is not supported (uni-directional only).
