The SMBJ18CA-13 from Diodes Incorporated is a 600W surface mount transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode designed for general purpose circuit protection. It provides bidirectional clamping with a reverse standoff voltage of 18V, a breakdown voltage range of 20.0V to 23.3V, and a maximum clamping voltage of 29.2V at a peak pulse current of 20.5A.
This device offers excellent clamping capability and fast response time, making it suitable for protecting sensitive electronics from voltage transients. The peak pulse power dissipation is rated at 600W for an 8/20µs waveform, and it can withstand a peak forward surge current of 100A (8.3ms single half sine wave).
The SMBJ18CA-13 is housed in a surface mount DO-214AA (SMB) package with transfer molded epoxy case materials rated UL 94V-0. It operates over a temperature range of -55°C to 150°C and is solderable per MIL-STD-202, Method 208. The part is RoHS3 compliant (low confidence) and REACH unaffected.
