The SMBJ18A is a unidirectional TVS diode from Littelfuse designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 18V and a clamping voltage of 29.2V at a peak pulse current of 20.6A. The device can handle 600W of peak pulse power under a 10/1000μs waveform.
This TVS diode is based on Zener technology and offers a fast response time of less than 1.0 ps from 0V to the breakdown voltage. It is suitable for general purpose applications including I/O interface protection, VCC bus protection, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics.
The SMBJ18A is housed in a surface mount DO-214AA (SMB) package with matte tin lead-free terminal finish. It operates over a temperature range of -65°C to 150°C and has a storage temperature range of -65°C to 175°C.
