The Littelfuse SMBJ180CA is a 600W bidirectional TVS diode designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 180V, a clamping voltage of 292V, and a peak pulse current rating of 2.1A (10/1000μs waveform).
This device is housed in a surface-mount DO-214AA (SMB) package with matte tin lead-free plating. It is RoHS3 compliant, halogen free, and meets MSL Level 1 (unlimited). The SMBJ series offers excellent clamping capability, low incremental surge resistance, and fast response time typically less than 1.0ps.
Typical applications include protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. The part is rated for operating temperatures from -65°C to 150°C.
