The SMBJ12CA from Littelfuse Inc. is a 600W bidirectional Zener TVS diode designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events.
It features a 12V reverse standoff voltage (VRWM), maximum clamping voltage of 19.9V, and can handle a peak pulse current of 30.2A under a 10/1000μs waveform. The device has a fast response time of less than 1.0ps from 0V to breakdown, and typical reverse leakage current is less than 1μA.
This diode is housed in a surface mount DO-214AA (SMB) package with matte tin lead-free plated terminals, rated for operating temperatures from -65°C to 150°C. It is RoHS compliant, halogen free, and MSL Level 1 (unlimited). Typical applications include protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics.
