The SMBJ120A-13-F is a transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients. With a standoff voltage of 120V and a clamping voltage of 193V, it can handle peak pulse currents up to 3.1A and peak pulse power dissipation of 600W (10/1000μs waveform). The device uses Zener technology and is unidirectional, making it suitable for DC power line protection in general-purpose applications.
The TVS diode is housed in a surface-mount DO-214AA (SMB) package, which is compatible with standard reflow soldering processes. It has a matte tin termination finish and is rated for operating temperatures from -55°C to 150°C. The steady-state power dissipation is 5W, and the peak forward surge current (8.3ms single half sine-wave) is 100A.
