The SMAJ5.0CA/TR13 is a bidirectional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode from Yageo's SMAJ series. It is designed for surface-mount applications and provides 400W peak pulse power at 10/1000μs waveform. The device has a reverse stand-off voltage of 5V, a minimum breakdown voltage of 6.4V (max 7V at 10mA), and a maximum clamping voltage of 9.2V at 43.5A peak pulse current. Its glass passivated junction ensures low leakage current (typical less than 1μA above 10V) and fast response time. The diode is packaged in a DO-214AC (SMA) case with tin-plated terminals, rated for operating temperatures from -55°C to 150°C. It meets MSL level 1 and UL flammability 94V-0, and is claimed RoHS compliant and halogen free per the datasheet. Typical applications include I/O interface protection, AC/DC power supply circuits, and low-frequency signal transmission lines such as RS232 and RS485.
