The SMAJ5.0CA is a bidirectional TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) diode from Würth Elektronik. It is designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients. With a reverse standoff voltage of 5 V and a breakdown voltage of 6.7 V ±5% at 10 mA, it provides clamping at 9.2 V maximum.
The device can handle a peak pulse current of 43.5 A and a peak pulse power of 400 W under 10/1000 µs test conditions. Maximum steady state power dissipation is 3.3 W at 50°C ambient. Leakage current is limited to 1600 µA at rated standoff voltage.
The SMAJ5.0CA is housed in a DO-214AC (SMA) surface mount package with gull wing leads. Operating temperature range is -65°C to 150°C (junction). It is RoHS, REACH, and Halogen Free compliant, with MSL Level 1. UL approvals include UL497B and UL1449.
