The Bourns SMAJ495CA is a bidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in general purpose applications. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 495V and a maximum clamping voltage of 760V at peak pulse current. The device can handle 400W of peak pulse power (tp=1ms) and a peak forward surge current of 40A (8.3ms single half sine wave). Steady state power dissipation is rated at 1.0W at TL=75°C. The SMAJ495CA offers a fast response time of less than 5 ps from 0V to minimum breakdown voltage. It is housed in a surface mount DO-214AC (SMA) package and operates over a temperature range of -55°C to 150°C. The device is RoHS3 compliant and UL recognized (File E153537). It provides IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection at Level 4 minimum.
