The SMAJ43CA is a bidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from Littelfuse, designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 43V and a maximum clamping voltage of 69.4V at a peak pulse current of 5.8A (10/1000µs waveform). The device delivers 400W peak pulse power and offers fast response time of less than 1ps.
This TVS diode provides IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection up to 30kV (air) and 30kV (contact), making it suitable for I/O interfaces, Vcc bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. It is a Zener-based device with glass passivated junction and built-in strain relief.
The SMAJ43CA is housed in a DO-214AC (SMA) surface mount package, rated for operating temperatures from -65°C to 150°C and storage from -65°C to 175°C. It is RoHS3 compliant, halogen free, and Pb-free (E3). Typical thermal resistance is 30°C/W junction-to-lead and 120°C/W junction-to-ambient.
