SMAJ30A-13-F

The SMAJ30A-13-F is a 400W surface mount transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from Diodes Incorporated. It is designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients induced by lightning, inductive load switching, and electrostatic discharge (ESD). This unidirectional device features a 30V reverse standoff voltage (VRWM) and a maximum clamping voltage of 48.4V at a peak pulse current of 8.3A (8/20µs waveform). The diode can handle 400W peak pulse power dissipation in a standard 10/1000µs waveform.

The SMAJ30A-13-F is housed in a DO-214AC (SMA) package, suitable for surface mount assembly. It operates over a wide temperature range from -55°C to 150°C. The device is RoHS3 compliant, halogen and antimony free, and has a moisture sensitivity level (MSL) of 1 per J-STD-020, indicating no special storage requirements.

Typical applications include general purpose circuit protection in consumer electronics, telecommunications, industrial equipment, and DC power lines. The fast response time (typically less than 1 nanosecond) ensures effective clamping of fast-rise transients.
