The SMAJ28A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from Würth Elektronik, designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients induced by lightning, inductive load switching, and electrostatic discharge. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 28V and a maximum clamping voltage of 45.4V at a peak pulse current of 8.8A (10/1000µs waveform). With a peak pulse power rating of 400W, this device is suitable for general purpose circuit protection applications.
The SMAJ28A is housed in a compact DO-214AC (SMA) surface mount package, making it ideal for automated assembly processes. It operates over a wide temperature range of -65°C to 150°C. The device is RoHS compliant and supports IEC 61000-4-2 ESD, IEC 61000-4-4 EFT, and IEC 61000-4-5 surge immunity standards.
