The SMAJ250A is a 400W unidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from the Littelfuse SMAJ series. Designed for general purpose circuit protection, it features a reverse standoff voltage of 250V and a clamping voltage of 405V. The device provides 400W peak pulse power dissipation at 10/1000µs waveform, with a peak pulse current rating of 1A.
This TVS diode is packaged in a surface-mount DO-214AC (SMA) package, suitable for compact PCB layouts. It offers an operating temperature range of -65°C to 150°C, with thermal resistance of 30°C/W junction-to-lead and 120°C/W junction-to-ambient. Additional characteristics include a peak forward surge current of 60A (8.3ms half sine wave) and a fast response time typically less than 1.0ps.
The SMAJ250A is RoHS3 compliant, halogen free, and MSL level 1 (unlimited). It is typically used for protecting I/O interfaces, Vcc bus lines, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronic applications.
