The SMAJ18A-13 is a 400W surface mount transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode manufactured by Diodes Incorporated. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 18V and a clamping voltage of 29.2V at a peak pulse current of 13.7A. The device uses a Zener design with a single unidirectional channel for overvoltage protection in general purpose applications.
The diode delivers 400W peak pulse power dissipation (10/1000μs waveform) and offers excellent clamping capability with fast response time. Operating temperature ranges from -55°C to 150°C, ensuring reliability in harsh environments. The glass passivated die construction enhances device ruggedness.
Packaged in a standard DO-214AC (SMA) surface mount package, the SMAJ18A-13 is suitable for automated assembly. The case material is molded plastic with UL flammability rating 94V-0. Terminals are solderable per MIL-STD-202, Method 208. The device is available in lead-free finish compliant with RoHS (unverified). Moisture sensitivity level is rated 1 (unlimited) per J-STD-020C.
