The SMAJ17CA is a 400W surface mount TVS diode from Littelfuse designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 17V and a clamping voltage of 27.6V at a peak pulse current of 14.5A (10/1000µs waveform). The device offers bidirectional protection, making it suitable for AC or bidirectional applications.
With a fast response time of less than 1ps from 0V to breakdown, the SMAJ17CA provides excellent ESD protection up to 30kV air and contact per IEC 61000-4-2. It is packaged in a DO-214AC (SMA) surface mount package, rated for operating temperatures from -65°C to 150°C. This TVS diode is ideal for general purpose protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics.
