The SMAJ17A is a 400W surface mount TVS diode from Littelfuse designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 17V and a maximum clamping voltage of 27.6V at a peak pulse current of 14.5A under a 10/1000µs waveform.
This unidirectional device offers a fast response time of less than 1 ps from 0V to breakdown voltage minimum. It provides ESD protection of 30 kV (air and contact) per IEC 61000-4-2 and is rated for a peak forward surge current of 60A (8.3ms single half sine wave). The operating temperature range spans -65°C to 150°C.
The SMAJ17A is housed in a DO-214AC (SMA) surface mount package and is RoHS3 compliant and halogen free. It is suitable for protecting I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronic applications.
