The Vishay SMAJ16CA-E3/61 is a surface-mount Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode from the SMAJ series, designed for protecting sensitive electronics from voltage transients. It features a low profile package ideal for automated placement.
This bidirectional TVS diode provides 400W of peak pulse power dissipation with a 10/1000 μs waveform. It has a maximum clamping voltage of 26V and a working voltage of 16V, with a breakdown voltage starting at 6.4V. The device is rated for operation between -55°C and 150°C.
Applications include protection against voltage transients induced by inductive load switching and lighting on ICs, MOSFETs, and signal lines in consumer, computer, industrial, automotive, and telecommunication systems. The glass-passivated chip junction ensures reliability.
Packaged in a DO-214AC (SMA) case, this component meets MSL level 1 standards and is RoHS-compliant. Its fast response time and low incremental surge resistance make it suitable for demanding protection applications.
