The Bourns SMAJ15A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode designed for surge and ESD protection in general-purpose applications. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 15 V and a maximum clamping voltage of 24.4 V at a peak pulse current of 16.4 A. The device can handle 400 W of peak pulse power (10/1000 µs waveform) and has a steady-state power dissipation of 1.0 W at 75°C lead temperature. With a typical response time of less than 1.0 ps, it provides fast overvoltage protection. The SMAJ15A is housed in a DO-214AC (SMA) surface-mount package, suitable for automated assembly. It is RoHS3 compliant and meets IEC 61000-4-2, IEC 61000-4-4, and IEC 61000-4-5 standards. Operating temperature range is -55°C to 150°C.
