The SMAJ14CA is a 400W peak pulse power bidirectional TVS diode from Littelfuse, designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 14V, a maximum clamping voltage of 23.2V, and a peak pulse current of 17.2A under a 10/1000µs waveform. The device offers ESD protection up to 30kV (air and contact) per IEC 61000-4-2 and has a fast response time of less than 1ps.
This TVS diode is suitable for general purpose applications, including protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. It is housed in a surface mount DO-214AC (SMA) package with matte tin, lead-free plated termination, and is RoHS compliant and halogen free. The operating temperature range is -65°C to 150°C, and the device has a typical thermal resistance of 30°C/W junction-to-lead and 120°C/W junction-to-ambient.
With its low profile package and excellent clamping capability, the SMAJ14CA is ideal for compact PCB layouts. The part is from the SMAJ series, which features a glass passivated junction and built-in strain relief for reliability.
