The SMAJ14A is a surface mount TVS diode from Littelfuse, designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 14V and a maximum clamping voltage of 23.2V, with a peak pulse current rating of 17.2A (10/1000µs waveform). The device can dissipate up to 400W peak pulse power under specified conditions.
This diode offers a fast response time of less than 1.0ps from 0V to breakdown voltage, making it suitable for high-speed data line protection. It is unidirectional with a forward surge current capability of 60A (8.3ms) and a maximum forward voltage of 3.5V at 25A.
The SMAJ14A comes in a DO-214AC (SMA) package with matte tin lead-free plating, suitable for surface mount assembly. It operates over a temperature range of -65°C to 150°C and has a typical thermal resistance of 120°C/W junction-to-ambient.
Applications include protection of I/O interfaces, Vcc bus, and other circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. The device is halogen-free and Pb-free per datasheet.
