The SMAJ120CA is a bidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from Littelfuse, designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It features a working voltage of 120V and a maximum clamping voltage of 193V at a peak pulse current of 2.1A (10/1000µs waveform). The device offers 400W peak pulse power capability and fast response time of less than 1ps.
This TVS diode is suitable for general purpose applications including I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. It provides ESD protection per IEC 61000-4-2 (30kV air and contact) and EFT protection per IEC 61000-4-4.
The SMAJ120CA is housed in a DO-214AC (SMA) surface mount package with gull wing leads, suitable for compact PCB layouts. It operates over a junction temperature range of -65°C to 150°C and features a glass passivated junction for reliability.
