The SMAJ100A is a unidirectional TVS diode from Littelfuse designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 100V and a maximum clamping voltage of 162V at a peak pulse current of 2.5A (10/1000μs waveform). The device can handle 400W peak pulse power dissipation.
This Zener-type TVS diode offers a single unidirectional channel and is not intended for power line protection. It provides a fast response time of less than 1.0ps from 0V to breakdown. The device is housed in a DO-214AC (SMA) surface mount package with matte tin lead-free finish and is rated for operating junction temperatures from -65°C to 150°C.
The SMAJ100A is suitable for general purpose transient voltage suppression in applications such as I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics.
