The SMA6J40A-TR is a unidirectional Zener TVS diode designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients. It features a 40V reverse standoff voltage and a minimum breakdown voltage of 44.4V, clamping transients at a maximum of 73.6V when subjected to a 48A peak pulse current (8/20µs waveform). With a peak pulse power rating of 600W, this device is suitable for general-purpose transient suppression in a wide range of applications.
The diode is housed in a compact DO-214AC (SMA) surface-mount package, enabling efficient use of board space in modern electronic designs. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 175°C, ensuring reliable performance in demanding thermal environments. The SMA6J40A-TR is not intended for power line protection and is best suited for signal line and low-voltage DC bus protection.
