The STMicroelectronics SMA6F12AVCL is a high junction temperature Transil™ TVS diode designed to protect sensitive equipment from electrostatic discharges and electrical overstress. It offers a peak pulse power dissipation of 600 W (10/1000 µs) and 4 kW (8/20 µs).
This unidirectional TVS diode has a stand-off voltage of 12 V and a low clamping voltage of 22.9 V at 1 A (10/1000 µs). It operates over a wide temperature range of -55°C to 175°C and features a low leakage current of 0.2 µA at 25°C.
The SMA6F12AVCL is packaged in an SMAflat non-exposed pad package, minimizing PCB space consumption and complying with the IPC 7531 standard. It is suitable for high-end equipment and SMPS where reliability and stability over time are critical.
This device complies with IEC 61000-4-2 level 4 standards for ESD protection, including 15 kV air discharge and 8 kV contact discharge. It also meets MIL STD 883G-Method 3015-7 class 3B for human body model protection (25 kV).
