The SMA4F6.5A is a transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode designed by STMicroelectronics to protect sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients induced by lightning, ESD, and other surge events. It features a standoff voltage of 6.5V and a maximum clamping voltage of 14.5V at a peak pulse current of 35.7A (10/1000 µs waveform).
The device offers a peak pulse power rating of 400W for the 10/1000 µs waveform and 2.5kW for the 8/20 µs waveform, making it suitable for a range of protection applications. It also provides ESD protection up to 25kV contact discharge and 30kV air discharge per IEC 61000-4-2. The operating junction temperature range is -55°C to 175°C.
The SMA4F6.5A is housed in an SMAflat package with matte tin plated leads, designed for surface mount assembly. Its low leakage current of 0.2 µA at 25°C and fast response time make it ideal for high-reliability designs in industrial, consumer, and automotive electronics.
