The SM4T21CAY is a bidirectional Zener TVS diode from STMicroelectronics designed for automotive applications. It provides transient voltage suppression with a reverse standoff voltage of 18V and a maximum clamping voltage of 39.3V at a peak pulse current of 59A (8/20µs waveform). The device can handle 400W of peak pulse power.
This TVS diode is surface mountable in a DO-214AC (SMA) package, with an operating temperature range of -55°C to 150°C. It is not intended for power line protection but is suitable for protecting sensitive electronics from voltage transients.
