SM4004

The SM4004 is a standard recovery rectifier diode from Diotec Semiconductor, designed for general purpose rectification applications. It features a repetitive peak reverse voltage (VRRM) of 400V and an average forward rectified current (IF(AV)) of 1A. The typical forward voltage (VF) is 1.1V at 1A, and the reverse recovery time (trr) is 1.5 µs, making it suitable for 50/60 Hz mains frequency operation.

The diode offers high surge current capability with a peak forward surge current (IFSM) of 40A for a 10 ms half-sine wave (50 Hz) and 44A for an 8.3 ms half-sine wave (60 Hz). The junction capacitance (Cj) is typically 10 pF at 4V reverse bias. Leakage current (IR) is less than 5 µA at 25°C and less than 50 µA at 100°C. The device can operate over a junction temperature range of -50°C to 175°C.

The SM4004 is packaged in a surface-mount DO-213AB MELF (Metal Electrode Leadless Face) package, which offers good power dissipation and is suitable for automated assembly. The package is MSL level 1 (unlimited) and weighs approximately 0.12 g. Standard packaging is tape and reel with 5000 pieces per reel.

Typical applications include 50/60 Hz mains rectification, power supplies, and polarity protection circuits. The device is RoHS, REACH, and Conflict Minerals compliant, and is rated for commercial and industrial grade use.
