The Vishay Dale SM15T39CA-E3/57T is a surface-mount Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode, also known as a TRANSZORB®. It is designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients induced by inductive load switching and lightning.
This bidirectional TVS diode features a working voltage of 33.3V and a breakdown voltage range of 37.1V to 41V. Its excellent clamping capability is demonstrated by a clamping voltage of 69.7V. With a peak surge current rating of 143A and a peak pulse power dissipation of 1500W (1.5kW) at a 10/1000 μs waveform, it is suitable for protecting against significant transient events.
The device operates across a wide temperature range from -65°C to 150°C. It is housed in a DO-214AB (SMC) package, making it ideal for automated placement on printed circuit boards. The molding compound meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating.
Typical applications include protection for ICs, MOSFETs, and signal lines in consumer, computer, industrial, automotive, and telecommunication systems. It is designed for general-purpose use and offers robust protection against overvoltage conditions.
