The SM15T27A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode manufactured by STMicroelectronics. It is designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients induced by lightning, inductive load switching, and electrostatic discharge. The device features a reverse standoff voltage of 27V and a maximum clamping voltage of 48.3V at a peak pulse current of 207A (8/20µs waveform). With a peak pulse power rating of 1500W (10/1000µs), it provides robust protection for general-purpose applications.
The SM15T27A is housed in a DO-214AB (SMC) surface-mount package, making it suitable for automated assembly processes. It operates over a wide temperature range of -55°C to 150°C. The device is RoHS3 compliant and REACH unaffected, with an MSL rating of 1 (unlimited). It is not intended for power line protection and is optimized for signal line transient suppression.
