The SM15T15CA is a bidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from STMicroelectronics, designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 12.8V and a minimum breakdown voltage of 14.3V, with a maximum clamping voltage of 27.2V at the peak pulse current. The device can handle a peak pulse power of 1500W (1.5kW) under 8/20µs test conditions, with a corresponding peak pulse current of 368A.
This TVS diode is housed in an industry-standard DO-214AB (SMC) surface-mount package, suitable for automated assembly processes. It is rated for operation over a wide temperature range from -55°C to 150°C. The bidirectional configuration makes it ideal for protecting data lines and power interfaces where symmetrical clamping is required.
Applications include general-purpose transient protection in consumer, industrial, and telecommunications equipment. The SM15T15CA is not intended for power line protection applications.
