The SM15T12CAY is a bidirectional Zener TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) diode designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients and surges.
This component is rated for a peak pulse power dissipation of 1500W (1.5kW) under 8/20µs waveform conditions, with a corresponding peak pulse current of 461A. It offers a reverse standoff voltage (typical) of 10.2V and a maximum clamping voltage of 21.7V. The device operates over a junction temperature range of -40°C to 150°C.
Targeted for automotive applications, the SM15T12CAY is housed in a DO-214AB (SMC) surface mount package, enabling compact PCB assembly. It is not intended for power line protection and does not require external driver circuitry.
