The SLD8S24A is a unidirectional TVS diode from Littelfuse's SLD8S series, designed for automotive load dump and transient protection. It features a 24V reverse standoff voltage and a maximum clamping voltage of 38.9V at 180A peak pulse current (10/1000μs waveform). With a peak pulse power rating of 7000W, it provides robust protection against inductive load switching and alternator load dump events.
Electrical characteristics: The device offers ESD protection up to 30kV contact and air discharge per IEC 61000-4-2. It has a forward voltage of 1.8V at 100A and a peak forward surge current of 1000A (8.3ms half sine-wave). The thermal resistance from junction to case is 0.9°C/W, and it operates over a temperature range of -55°C to 175°C.
Package and compliance: The SLD8S24A is housed in a surface-mount SMTO-263 package with matte tin termination. It is RoHS3 compliant, halogen free, and meets MSL level 1. The device is AEC-Q101 qualified and meets ISO7637-2 and ISO16750 load dump test requirements.
