The SLD14-018 from Littelfuse is a 5kW TVS diode designed for overvoltage protection in automotive and high-reliability applications. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 14V, a minimum breakdown voltage of 15.6V, and a maximum clamping voltage of 23.2V at 219.8A peak pulse current (10/1000µs waveform). The device offers 5000W peak pulse power dissipation for 10/1000µs waveforms and 2200W for 10/150ms waveforms, meeting ISO7637 and ISO16750 load dump requirements.
Key electrical characteristics include a fast response time of less than 1.0ps, a maximum forward voltage of 3.5V at 100A, and a peak forward surge current of 600A (8.3ms). The TVS diode is AEC-Q101 qualified, operates over a temperature range of -55°C to 175°C, and has a steady-state power dissipation of 8.0W. It is constructed with a glass passivated chip junction in a P600 axial leaded package, featuring matte tin lead-free plating.
The SLD14-018 is suitable for protecting sensitive electronics from inductive load switching and alternator load dump. It is halogen free and RoHS compliant, with a Pb-free E3 termination finish. The through-hole mounting and P600 package provide robust mechanical and thermal performance.
