This highly integrated module incorporates a 5 GHz single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) transmit/receive (T/R) switch, a 5 GHz low-noise amplifier (LNA) with bypass functionality, and a 5 GHz power amplifier (PA).

 

Key features include integrated high-performance PA and LNA, a fully matched input and output, and an integrated positive slope power detector for closed-loop power control. The device offers a transmit gain of 28 dB and a receive gain of 12 dB. Output power is specified at +19.5 dBm for MCS7, HT40 and +18.5 dBm at 1.8% EVM for MCS9, HT80.

 

Designed for power savings, it includes an enable/disable function for off-mode power reduction and can be directly connected to a battery with a 5 V nominal supply voltage. The SKY85717-21 is provided in a compact 16-pin, 2.5 x 2.5 x 0.4 mm Quad Flat No-Lead (QFN) package, suitable for space-constrained designs.

 

This module is ideal for 802.11ac set-top boxes, networking equipment, personal computer systems, PC cards, and WLAN-enabled wireless video systems.
