SKY77712-13

The SKY77712-13 is a fully matched, 10-pad, surface mount Power Amplifier Module (PAM) developed by Skyworks Solutions for Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) applications. This module supports TD-SCDMA multi-slot operation and covers the 1880–1920 MHz and 2010–2025 MHz bandwidths in a single compact package.

It meets stringent spectral linearity requirements for TD-SCDMA transmission, offering high power added efficiency (PAE) up to 40% at 28 dBm power output. The device utilizes a Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) Microwave Monolithic Integrated Circuit (MMIC) containing active circuitry, including on-board bias and matching circuits. The output match is realized off-chip to optimize performance into a 50 Ω load.

Manufactured using Skyworks’ InGaP GaAs Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor (HBT) BiFET process, the SKY77712-13 operates with a positive DC supply voltage between 3.2 V and 4.2 V, maintaining high efficiency and good linearity. Power-down is controlled by setting the VENABLE voltage to zero, with minimal off-leakage current. The module features a small, low-profile package measuring 3 x 3 x 0.85 mm.

Key electrical characteristics include a typical gain of 27 dB and a typical PAE of 39% at 28 dBm. The module is designed for applications such as smartphones.
