The SKY77365-11 is a Power Amplifier Module (PAM) from Skyworks Solutions, engineered for 2G quad-band cellular handsets. This module supports both GMSK and EDGE modulation, including Class 4, Class 1, Class 12, and Class E2 operations across GSM850/900, DCS1800, and PCS1900 bands.
Key features include high efficiency, programmable bias for improved backed-off efficiency, high linearity, and low standby leakage. The module is compatible with DC-DC converters and features a programmable current clamp and autonomous over-voltage protection. It is self-shielded for reduced interference.
The compact package measures 3.0 mm x 3.5 mm x 0.8 mm with a 12-pad configuration. Internally, it comprises GSM850/900 and DCS1800/PCS1900 PA blocks, 50-ohm input and output matching circuitry, and a multi-function power amplifier control (MFC) block. The MFC is custom silicon CMOS, providing PA bias and product identification read-back, programmable via RF Front-End MIPI. The PA blocks utilize heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) technology fabricated on a single InGaP die, with passive components mounted on a multi-layer laminate substrate and encapsulated in plastic over mold.
