SI8422AD-D-IS Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The Skyworks (formerly Silicon Labs) Si8410/20/21 and Si8422/23/24/25/26 family of ultra-low-power digital isolators are CMOS devices designed for high-speed data transfer with minimal power consumption. These isolators support data rates up to 150 Mbps and feature worst-case propagation delays of less than 10 ns, with typical values of 11 ns maximum. They offer robust performance across wide temperature ranges, from -40 °C to 125 °C at 150 Mbps.

Key features include Schmitt trigger inputs for high noise immunity and selectable fail-safe operating modes. The devices support a wide operating supply voltage range of 2.6 V to 5.5 V and provide up to 5000 VRMS of isolation. Power consumption is notably low, with typical values of less than 2.6 mA/channel at 1 Mbps and less than 6.8 mA/channel at 100 Mbps when operating at 5 V.

Available in SOIC-16 wide body and SOIC-8 narrow body packages, these digital isolators are suitable for applications such as industrial automation systems, medical electronics, hybrid electric vehicles, isolated switch mode supplies, and communication systems. They are safety certified by UL, CSA, and VDE, with products in wide-body packages supporting reinforced insulation up to 5 kVRMS.

These isolators are designed for ease of use, requiring only VDD bypass capacitors and no start-up initialization. Their stable operating parameters throughout device service life ensure highly uniform performance and reliability.
