SI5338Q-B09137-GM

The Skyworks Solutions SI5338Q-B09137-GM is a high-performance, low-jitter clock generator capable of synthesizing any frequency on each of its four output drivers. This timing IC can replace up to four different frequency crystal oscillators or operate as a frequency translator. Utilizing patented MultiSynth™ technology, the Si5338 allows for the generation of four independent clocks with 0 ppm precision. Each output clock is independently configurable to support various signal formats and supply voltages.

The device supports a wide range of input references, including external crystals (8-30 MHz), CMOS (5-200 MHz), SSTL/HSTL (5-350 MHz), and differential inputs (5-710 MHz). The independently configurable outputs support frequencies from 0.16 MHz up to 710 MHz depending on the format (LVPECL/LVDS, HCSL, CMOS, SSTL/HSTL). It operates from a 1.8, 2.5, or 3.3 V core supply and offers independent output voltage configuration per driver (1.5, 1.8, 2.5, or 3.3 V).

Key features include low phase jitter of 0.7 ps RMS typical, high precision synthesis for zero ppm frequency accuracy, and highly configurable output drivers. The device also supports spread spectrum generation and has loss of lock and loss of signal alarms. It is programmable via an I2C/SMBus-compatible serial interface and comes in a space-saving 4 x 4 mm QFN package.

Applications for the SI5338Q-B09137-GM include Ethernet switches/routers and PCIe Gen1/2/3/4 common clocking. The device is designed for applications requiring precise and flexible clock generation.
