The Skyworks Solutions SI5338L-B06239-GM is a high-performance, low-jitter clock generator designed for flexible frequency synthesis. Utilizing patented MultiSynth™ technology, it can generate four independent clocks with 0 ppm precision, making it suitable for replacing multiple crystal oscillators or acting as a frequency translator.
Each of the four output drivers is independently configurable to support various signal formats and supply voltages, including LVPECL, LVDS, HCSL, CMOS, and SSTL/HSTL. The device supports a wide range of input references, from external crystals to differential inputs, and offers independent output voltage configuration per driver. Its low phase jitter of 0.7 ps RMS typ and true zero ppm frequency accuracy ensure high signal integrity.
The SI5338L-B06239-GM is programmable via an I2C/SMBus-compatible serial interface and operates from a 1.8, 2.5, or 3.3 V core supply. It is housed in a compact 4 x 4 mm, 24-QFN package, making it ideal for space-constrained applications. The device also features configurable spread spectrum on any output and independent phase adjustment capabilities.
Key applications include Ethernet switches/routers and PCIe Gen1/2/3/4 systems. The device operates over a wide temperature range of -40 to +85 °C.
