The Skyworks Solutions SI5338C-B07092-GM is a high-performance, low-jitter clock generator capable of synthesizing any frequency on each of its four output drivers. Utilizing patented MultiSynth™ technology, it allows for the generation of four independent clocks with 0 ppm precision, capable of replacing multiple crystal oscillators or operating as a frequency translator.
Each output clock is independently configurable to support various signal formats and supply voltages, including LVPECL/LVDS (0.16 to 710 MHz), HCSL (0.16 to 250 MHz), CMOS (0.16 to 200 MHz), and SSTL/HSTL (0.16 to 350 MHz). The device supports a core supply voltage of 1.8, 2.5, or 3.3 V and offers independent output voltage configuration per driver (1.5, 1.8, 2.5, or 3.3 V).
Key features include low phase jitter of 0.7 ps RMS typical, high precision synthesis for zero ppm frequency accuracy, and flexible input references ranging from external crystals (8-30 MHz) to differential inputs (5-710 MHz). It also supports configurable spread spectrum on any output and has loss of lock and loss of signal alarms. The device is programmable via an I2C/SMBus-compatible serial interface.
Packaged in a compact 4 x 4 mm 24-QFN (24-VFQFN Exposed Pad) with a surface mount type, the SI5338C-B07092-GM operates within a wide temperature range of -40 to +85 °C. Its low power consumption and space-saving design make it suitable for applications such as Ethernet switches/routers and PCIe Gen1/2/3/4.
