The Skyworks Solutions SI5338B-B02917-GM is a high-performance, low-jitter clock generator designed for flexible frequency synthesis. Utilizing patented MultiSynth™ technology, it can generate four independent clocks with 0 ppm precision, replacing multiple crystal oscillators or acting as a frequency translator.
This device supports a wide range of input references, including external crystals, CMOS, SSTL/HSTL, and differential inputs, with frequencies up to 710 MHz. The four output drivers are independently configurable for various signal formats such as LVPECL, LVDS, HCSL, CMOS, SSTL, and HSTL, with output frequencies ranging from 0.16 MHz to 710 MHz. It operates from a 1.8, 2.5, or 3.3 V core supply and allows independent output voltage configuration per driver (1.5, 1.8, 2.5, or 3.3 V).
Programmable via an I2C/SMBus-compatible serial interface, the SI5338B-B02917-GM is housed in a compact 4 x 4 mm 24-QFN package. It features low power consumption (45 mA core supply typical) and a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +85 °C. Applications include Ethernet switches/routers and PCIe Gen1/2/3/4 systems.
The device offers advanced features like independent phase adjustment, configurable spread spectrum generation, and loss of lock/signal alarms. It is suitable for designs requiring precise timing and low jitter, such as in high-speed communication systems and computing platforms.
