The Si5326C-C-GM from Skyworks Solutions is a high-performance, jitter-attenuating precision clock multiplier designed for applications requiring sub-picosecond jitter performance. It accepts dual input clocks ranging from 2 kHz to 710 MHz and generates two output clocks from 2 kHz to 945 MHz, with options for select frequencies up to 1.4 GHz. The device utilizes Skyworks' 3rd-generation DSPLL technology, integrating the PLL, VCXO, and loop filter components into a single chip, eliminating the need for external parts.
This clock multiplier offers ultra-low jitter clock outputs, with jitter generation as low as 0.3 ps rms. It features an integrated, digitally programmable loop filter with selectable bandwidths from 60 Hz to 8.4 kHz, allowing for application-level optimization of jitter performance. The Si5326C-C-GM supports dual clock inputs with hitless switching and dual clock outputs with selectable signal formats. It operates from a single 1.8 V, 2.5 V, or 3.3 V supply.
Designed for high-performance timing applications, the Si5326C-C-GM is suitable for SONET/SDH line cards, ITU G.709 and custom FEC line cards, GbE/10GbE, Fibre Channel line cards, optical modules, wireless basestations, and test and measurement equipment. It is programmable via I2C or SPI interface and comes in a compact 6x6 mm 36-lead QFN package.
