The Silicon Labs SI1153-AA09-GMR is a versatile sensor IC designed for ambient light detection, proximity sensing, and gesture recognition. It features an I2C digital interface for easy integration into various systems.
This sensor IC offers dual 23-bit analog-to-digital converters and an integrated array of visible and infrared photodiodes. It includes three independent LED drivers with programmable drive levels, supporting current settings from 5.6 mA to 360 mA. The Si1153 provides excellent performance across a wide dynamic range and various light conditions, including direct sunlight, and can operate under dark glass covers.
Key features include proximity detection from under 1 cm up to 50 cm without additional lensing, and up to 200 cm with lensing. It boasts low power consumption with an average current of 9 μA and a standby current below 500 nA. The device operates from a supply voltage of 1.62V to 3.6V and maintains functionality over an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
