The SGM3784YG/TR from SG Micro Corp is a compact and efficient dual white LED flash driver. It is designed to improve picture and video quality in low-light conditions, making it ideal for high-resolution camera phones and other portable imaging devices.
The device integrates a programmable 1.6MHz or 3MHz synchronous inductive boost converter, an I2C-compatible interface, and two 1.1A current sources. The parallel current sources enable LED cathode grounding, which enhances thermal dissipation and reduces EMI.
Key features include up to 95% peak efficiency, programmable DC battery current limit, and a programmable flash timer up to 1600ms. The I2C interface allows for dynamic programming of currents and timers, as well as status monitoring.
