The SGM3209YS8G/TR is a high voltage charge pump DC/DC converter manufactured by SG Micro Corp. It is designed to generate a negative supply from a positive input voltage, with an input range of 3V to 18V and a corresponding output range of -3V to -18V. This device can deliver up to 100mA of output current.
The switching frequency of the SGM3209 is programmable from 120kHz to 1.25MHz via an external resistor, offering design flexibility. It utilizes a combination of few external components, eliminating the need for inductors and reducing associated costs, size, and EMI. The device also features an external enable control signal for entering shutdown status to minimize power dissipation.
Available in SOIC-8 and TDFN-2x2-8L packages, the SGM3209 operates within an ambient temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. Its low output impedance and CMOS construction make it suitable for applications requiring higher output current or lower input/output voltage drop, such as laptop computers, disk drives, and process instrumentation.
