The Osram SFH 4205 is a high-efficiency GaAs infrared emitter designed for surface mounting (SMD) applications. It features a peak emission wavelength of 950nm and is suitable for DC or pulsed operation with a maximum forward current of 100mA.
This emitter offers a wide viewing angle of 120°, making it versatile for various applications. Its compact 2-SMD, Boomerang package is ideal for space-constrained designs. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 100°C.
Applications include high data transmission rates up to 100 Mbaud, analog and digital audio/video signal transmission, and low-power battery-operated devices. Its high reliability and pulse handling capability also make it suitable for alarm and safety systems, as well as IR free-air transmission.
The SFH 4205 is designed for IR-reflow soldering. It is available on tape and reel for automated assembly processes.
