The SF5408-TR is an ultra-fast avalanche sinterglass diode from Vishay Semiconductors, part of the SF540x series. It is rated for a maximum reverse voltage of 1000 V and an average forward current of 3 A. The forward voltage drop is 1.7 V maximum at 3 A. With a reverse recovery time of 75 ns, it is suitable for high-frequency switching applications.
This diode utilizes avalanche technology and is glass passivated with a hermetically sealed axial leaded glass envelope. It offers low reverse current and high reverse voltage capability. The maximum peak forward surge current is 80 A (10 ms half sine wave) and 150 A (2 ms). The junction temperature range is -55°C to 175°C.
The device is packaged in a SOD-64 case with plated axial leads, solderable per MIL-STD-750. It is designed for through-hole mounting. Typical applications include switched-mode power supplies and high-frequency inverter circuits.
