The SESDONCAN1LT3G is a dual bidirectional TVS diode from On Semiconductor, specifically designed to protect CAN transceivers from ESD and other transient voltage events. It provides bidirectional protection for two data lines in a single compact SOT-23-3 package, offering a low-cost solution for improving system reliability and meeting stringent EMI requirements.
Key electrical specifications include a reverse standoff voltage of 24 V, a breakdown voltage range of 26.2 V to 32 V, and clamping voltages of 33.4 V to 36.6 V at 1 A (44 V to 50 V at 3 A) under an 8/20 µs waveform. The device can handle a peak pulse current of 3 A and has a peak power dissipation of 150 W. Reverse leakage current is very low, typically 15 nA to 100 nA at 24 V. Capacitance is 10 pF at 1 MHz, making it suitable for high-speed CAN/CAN-FD data rates.
The device meets IEC 61000-4-2 ESD immunity with a contact discharge rating of 23 kV, and also complies with HBM (8 kV) and MM (400 V) standards. It is Pb-Free and RoHS compliant. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 150°C. The SOT-23-3 package (TO-236-3, SC-59) is surface mountable with gull wing leads. This TVS diode is ideal for automotive and industrial CAN bus applications, including DeviceNet and Smart Distribution Systems.
