The SD05C-7 is a bidirectional TVS diode from Diodes Incorporated, designed to protect sensitive electronics from electrostatic discharge (ESD) and surge events. It is based on Zener technology and offers a reverse standoff voltage of 5.5V, a minimum breakdown voltage of 6V, and a typical clamping voltage of 16V. With a peak pulse power rating of 640W (8/20µs pulse) and a peak pulse current of 40A, it provides robust protection for portable applications.
Key electrical characteristics include a low leakage current of 1µA typical (3µA maximum) at 5V reverse standoff, and a capacitance of 200pF typical at 1MHz. The device delivers ±30kV ESD protection for both contact and air discharge per IEC 61000-4-2, and is compatible with IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT) up to 40A. The operating temperature range spans -65°C to 150°C.
