The Semtech SC2446ITSTRT is a high-frequency dual synchronous step-down switching controller. It is designed to provide out-of-phase high-current output gate drives for N-channel MOSFET power stages, operating in synchronous continuous-conduction mode.
This controller supports dual independent outputs or a single output with shared current. It features fixed frequency peak current-mode control for ease of compensation and fast transient response. The input voltage range is 4.7V to 16V, with the capability to regulate outputs as low as 0.5V. The maximum duty cycle is 88% and it operates at a frequency of 500kHz.
The SC2446ITSTRT offers synthesized MOSFET Rds(on) current-sensing, eliminating the need for a current-sense resistor and improving noise immunity. Optional resistor current-sensing is also available for precise current limiting. Each controller includes individual soft-start and overload shutdown timers, with hiccup overload protection.
Packaged in a 28-TSSOP (0.173", 4.40mm Width), this controller is designed for surface mount applications. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C (TA).
